Silicone Strainer/Colander

Do you ever wish you had another hand when you are trying to drain pasta?  If you are a mere mortal woman like me trying to balance the weight of a pan full of water and pasta and hold on to the strainer can be a self defeating act and if you are successful, you could be circus noteworthy.  Yes I know you can put the strainer in the sink and gracefully pour the pasta into the strainer problem solved.  Well if you are like me your sink is full of dishes because well…..you are COOKING!

If you are agile then you could use your (clean) foot to hold the colander but as a Nona I lost that ability several years ago.

This product works just like it says it does.  I like it a lot.  The clips are silicone covered metal and grip nice and tight. It is dish washer safe and because it is smaller than your normal colander it takes less space to store. The only down that I found is that if you are using a small circumference pan it does not fit as well.  You can still clip it on but it doesn’t have the distance to allow it to fit tight and therefore whatever you are straining can slip between the pot and the strainer.  Still despite this small hiccup this product is in my humble opinion well worth the price.
